We are looking for a talented and energetic lawyer
to join our Litigation Department, which has a stellar reputation for
effective dispute resolution and fearless advocacy.
CREA’s legal department provides or manages all legal advice and support to CREA’s
Executive Office and other business units, its Board of Directors, Councils, and to its member
real estate Boards across the country. We currently have a 15 month contract opportunity for a
motivated and talented individual who will report to and assist the General Counsel on a wide
variety of issues, including intellectual property, privacy, contracts, technology law, ethics and
corporate governance.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years’ experience in general
civil litigation and commercial litigation, excellent analytical
and drafting skills, and a talent for working with clients.

Applicants must have an LL.B/JD from a recognized institution and be a member in good
standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada. The ideal candidate will also have one to
three years of experience in general corporate law with a law firm, government, or as an
in-house counsel. Experience in intellectual property work is a particular asset. Excellent
written and oral communication skills, strong legal and business judgment, an ability to learn
quickly and to multitask, and the personality to deal with all levels of staff and elected officials
are essential. Bilingualism in French and English would be an asset.
