Ninety-three per cent of survey respondents said they are
confident in their companies’
prospects for growth in the next
three months.
Law firms and corporate legal
departments expect to hire an
average of two full-time positions
in the fourth quarter. Of those
interviewed, 85 per cent indicated they will most likely hire
lawyers, 37 per cent said they
would hire legal secretaries and/
or assistants and 28 per cent said
they would hire law clerks.
“I think one of the key words
in all of this is ‘strategic,’” Ohnjec
said. “We are not at the point
where they are just hiring for
numbers alone and bringing in
volumes of people.
