O
Redesign success
Story by Melissa Dunne
Photography by Paul Lawrence
AGF Management Ltd. was founded in 1957. Just over a decade
later in the heady days of the swinging 60s the Canadian-based
investment firm moved its head offices to the 50th floor of the
newly opened Toronto-Dominion Centre. At the time the centre
were among Toronto’s first skyscrapers. The two modern steel-
and-glass towers were designed by the internationally-renowned
Bauhaus architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. These days AGF,
and it’s five-person in-house legal team, occupies three floors of a
55-storey skyscraper. To celebrate 50 years of business AGF’s head
offices were redesigned in the mid-2000’s by B+H Architecture
Interiors. Here are some of the highlights of the building set in the
heart of Toronto’s financial district.
